FRANK BIEMANS

Frank Biemans is aanvankelijk bekend geworden met vlakglasobjecten, maar werkt tegenwoordig vooral met de fusetechniek waarbij stukken vlakglas met elkaar worden versmolten.

De resultaten zijn aan te duiden als object of reliëf, soms meer figuratief, soms abstract.

Vaak worden deze objecten in het (dag)licht vrij in de ruimte of voor een raam geplaatst. Ook wandobjecten behoren tot de mogelijkheden. In verschillende werken gebruikt hij kleurpoeders en glasgranulaten zodat een soort glazen schilderijen het resultaat zijn.

Het monumentale in zijn werk komt sterk terug in buitenbeelden en grafmonumenten, die door hun structuur, vormen en glasdikte speciaal geschikt zijn voor de buitenruimte. Buitenbeelden kunnen zowel helder als gekleurd zijn (of een combinatie hiervan) en er kunnen gefusede elementen aan worden toegevoegd. Onder invloed van zon, regen, rijp en condens lijken zijn beelden dagelijks te veranderen.
